The Pinto’s; Quito, Ecuador

Carlos, originally from Peru, and Becki, having grown up as a MK in the jungles of Peru, have been faithfully serving the Lord throughout the Andean Region of South America for a long time now.

Based in Quito, Ecuador, the Pinto’s work spans over different areas of ministry.

Carlos has a radio program at HCJB (the radio station started over 80 years ago to help broadcast the Gospel into the jungle in Ecuador and ultimately throughout the world); his program is unique and has discussion of different psychological issues. Listeners can then call in for advice, help, etc. Then, if they are looking for further help, they can come in for a counseling session.

The Pinto’s are also involved in raising up and training Latinos for the mission field. Preparation is huge when moving cross-culturally in order to spread the Gospel, and since many people from Latin areas are feeling the call of God in their life to move overseas, the Pinto’s (and many others) are involved in the support of preparation of these new missionaries.

Lastly, the Pinto’s are involved with pastoral care for many people in the ministry. They travel throughout the region, and support the many different leaders of churches, including many Indigenous churches with Indigenous pastors.

Run To Rescue; Atlanta, Georgia

She Is Safe is an organization based out of Atlanta, Georgia that works to end of sex trafficking on a global scale. In a unique way, She Is Safe (SIS) promotes sustainable ministry world wide by aiding indigenous organizations that redeem and teach of the value of women in their own communities, effectively bringing them out of at-risk situations and into communities of support. Working alongside the native women, SIS creates safe havens for women to gain skills and work to support themselves. Their goal is to see women living out of a place of identity and strength in Christ, to overcome a past of trafficking or to prevent future trafficking in a woman’s life.

Run To Rescue is a new program that SIS has developed to incorporate people back in the States who are looking for a way to get involved with their efforts across the world. They believe that God has gifted us with passions, skills and interests that all have kingdom purpose and kingdom potential. They believe that the way God has made us was so intentional that every little thing we do and every little thing we are is God opening us up to give and receive from him. In this, we can use all of who we are, exactly where we are at to do ministry.

Run To Rescue uses the passion and gifting of runners to raise awareness and funding for sex trafficking prevention. Their vision is to create a lifetime partnership with runners, more than just a one time run and organized event. Get to know them a bit more in the video below:

Run To Rescue; Atlanta, Ga [in city short]

In December, Halle had the opportunity to go back to Atlanta to work with a really sweet non-profit called She Is Safe. They work internationally and locally to aid anti-sex trafficking efforts and empower indigenous women to lead the cause in their own countries. They fight for the worth of women worldwide.

She Is Safe is so unique because they truly believe that everything we do in this life can change the world. They are spearheading efforts for normal people doing normal things to help aid their efforts. They’re most recent initiative is Run to Rescue, a program designed to help runners get involved in their work.

Mosaic Fellowship; Tucker, Georgia

Our God is the God of peace, unity, and reconciliation. He is constantly drawing people together and also to Himself. It seems that heart and vision of Mosaic Fellowship is just this.

In the Clarkston/Tucker community, on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia, there is a new church who is sowing seeds among the refugees that have been brought there. The vision of their church is simple. They have the desire to see a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural church with the heart to raise up the people, teach them about Jesus, and send them back to their home countries as missionaries and church planters among their own people. How much more effective is a missionary who already knows the culture and language?

The heart is this: to not only reconcile a people to their homeland, where they suffered some form of persecution, but also to reconcile the people of their homeland to God.

Mission to the World; Clarkston, Georgia

Just on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia lies a community of people that come from such various backgrounds that this one square mile in Clarkston is known as the “most diverse square mile in America”. This area has become a safe haven for refugees who have been invited by the US Government to come live, work, and have an option for citizenship.

When most people consider refugees, some may get confused with immigrants or only think of refugee camps in various war torn areas of the world. But, a refugees is someone with if fleeing from religious, social, or political persecution because of their faith, race, etc.

Down in Clarkston, Mission to the World is working within the refugee population to help them not only learn English and become acclimatized to our American way of life, but also to learn about Jesus and the abundant life He brings, whether you are home or living in a culture foreign to your own.

Take a look at the area of Clarkston and a bit of the work that Mission to the World is doing:
